Every year during the first two weeks of October, we host our annual fundraiser. This campaign is critical in allowing us to continue to provide legal services to victims and survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and child abuse. With four days left, we are about 65% to our goal. If you haven’t already, we’re asking you to make a donation today, so that we can continue:
offering legal advice to survivors who are in abusive relationships but want to find a way out;
advocating on behalf of survivors in court to secure protection orders; and
representing survivors in court to secure protective parenting plans for their children.
Your donation will make a difference in the lives of folks like EH (initials used for privacy). EH came to us after calling literally a dozen attorneys. All of the attorneys she spoke with charged hourly rates that she couldn’t afford. Worse, even if she could find a way to get enough money together, she didn’t feel confident that these attorneys understood the dynamics of domestic violence. She was eventually referred to us by a community advocate, and we were able to get her and her children the protection that they so desperately needed. Scroll down to see what she had to say.
